    • ColorLogic ZePrA 8

      What's new in Zepra 8?

ZePrA 8 is a major new version of our color server. It addresses several new features our clients have requested. These new features make ZePrA 8 a must have version for existing clients, as well as new clients.

      Speed Improvements

ZePrA 8 is a 64-Bit application which allows use of more RAM for processing multiple filesat the same time. The processing of PDF files in ZePrA will be faster due to the use ofadditional threads in jobs processing.

      Spot Color Report

The new Spot Color Reportfeature is helpful to check the spot color conversion before printing.

      New Graphical User Interface

The biggest changes of the GUI will show up when opening the Configurations dialog. You will find that fewer tabs are used. The Document / Target tab is the new center of each configuration as it contains the settings for Document ColorSpace, all Target color management settings and theSmartLink Method.

      New Spot Color Processing Options

More features have been added and the dialog looks cleaner compared to previous versions of ZePrA. If you wish to enable the advanced Spot Color Conversion simply select the radio button.

      PDF 2.0 Support

The new PDF 2.0 standard (ISO 32000-2) supports the following new functionalities which are integrated in ZePrA 8:

      • page-level output intents
      • object-level black point compensation
      • spectral data for spot colors (CxF/X-4)

      Overview Dialog

Sorting for Queue Names, Configurations and Status is now enabled by clicking on thetable headers. Previously, sorting of Queues was not possible. In addition, a queue ID hasbeen added which allows for "natural" sorting, e.g. with the newest queue either on thebottom or the top of the list.

      SaveInk Auto Setup Wizard Improvements

In the Auto Setup Wizard for Save Inks a newstep has been added that allows the user toenable or disable the ink saving calculations.

      Cloud Features of Zepra

By defining a shared folder inthe Cloud, (e.g. Dropbox, GoogleDrive, internal Cloud or network) it is possible to shareconfigurations, spot colors and ICC profiles easily.

      Warning Folder

In case you wish to identify files that have errors easier you can manuallydefine a separate Output Folder in case of Warnings in the Queues dialog in whichsuch files will be placed after processing

      New Flattening Option

In the Flattening dialog a new option has been added that allows to Use the documentcolors space as transparency color space on page level.

      Minimal Compression Rendering Intent

Zepra added the Minimal Compression rendering as an additional perceptualrendering option for the SmartLink conversion.

      Improved Soft Proof

Nowuses a rasterized version of the file for displaying on screen so that the transparency andoverprint are correctly simulated

      Online Help

Similar to CoPrA and ColorAnt each major dialog in ZePrA has a newquestion mark sign that leads directly to the help pages.

      New Repeat Job Feature

This option will reprocess a job and in the same queue without youhaving to retrieve the file and copy it manually in the Input folder of the queue.

Additional Options for converting Desired Pages

This is a very useful function on theConfiguration/PDF tab in section Advanced Options when a multi page PDF is used fora variety of printing tasks or display outputs.
