HP's embedded spectrophotometer, which uses a UV cut filter, and an automated workflow brings simplicity and reliability to accurate profiling and precise printer calibration for the HP Designjet Z3100. The embedded spectrophotometer uses a UV cut filter which has a bigeffect when measuring media with optical brighteners. In general, it is very important that the same type of measurement is used to measure both reference and proof, i.e. if the reference was measured without a UV cut, the proof should also be measured without a UV cut.

The HP embedded spectrophotometer with i1 Color Technology from GretagMacbeth is mounted on the HP Designjet Z3100's printer carriage and revolutionizes professional color workflows by automating media profiling. It allows users to automatically generate custom RGB ICC profiles for their preferred media and provides accurate measurements for printer calibration that delivers print-to-print and printer-to-printer color consistency. Also, with the optional HP Advanced Profiling Solution, you can edit and modify existing profiles and create CMYK profiles.
- The HP Designjet Z3100 uses 12 inks: magenta, yellow, light cyan, light magenta, light gray, gray,
matte black, photo black, red, green, blue plus a gloss enhancer.
- With this HP 12-ink Designjet, you can expect to see the same neutral grays across a variety of different lighting conditions—inside your office or in outdoor lighting.

Delivery Options
- Select "I want Inside Delivery" if you do not have a dock for the delivery truck to back into your location. The package will be delivered in a vehicle with a lift and will be moved inside your facility.
- Otherwise, you will need a loading dock for the package to be delivered.

Users have the option to either print directly from a creative application, or to simply drag and drop jobs into the appropriate Hot Folder and, when the system detects an available printer matching the job properties, printing begins automatically.
