The ColorMatcher CMB-2028 offers a viewing area of 19 x 28 inches with multiple light sources. This is an essential tool for visual color assessment, comparison of color variation, and detection of metamerism (when color samples appear to match under one illumination condition but distinctly change when viewed under a different illumination condition).

CMB-2028 light source options
- Artificial Daylight:
- D50(U.S.) - Best used in the graphic arts and photographic industries for color assessment of imaging media.
- D65(Europe) - Best used for color matching applications in the inks, paints, plastics, and textiles/apparel industries.
- Store Light:
- CWF Cool White Fluorescent - A wide band single phosphor fluorescent source commonly used in commercial lighting applications in North America. It is characterized by emitting high amounts of green energy, with a color temperature of approximately 4100K. It has a CRI or approximately 62.
- TL84(Europe) - At 4100K, this is a commercial narrow band fluorescent used in Europe and Asia
- Home Light:
- Incandescent A - (2865K) A common household light bulb that is yellowish red in color.
- Horizon - Approximately 2300K In color temperature (There is only about 500K difference between Incandescent A and Horizon)
- Fourth Optional Source:
- Ultralume 30 (U30) - At 3000K, it is a commercial narrow band fluorescent used in the U.S.
