Built-In SelfCorrection Sensor
Built-In Correction Sensor
The EIZO CX271W features a built-in correction sensor that is housed housed within the front upper bezel. This sensor records your adjustment results, and maintains the white point and brightness values by automatically readjusting the settings at specific intervals that you determine. Even if the monitor is switched off or not connected to a computer, it will stick to its preset schedule and self correct..
What’s New with the ColorEdge CX271?
Wide Color Gamut
The monitor reproduces 98% of the Adobe RGB color space so it can display most colors in a digital photo taken in Adobe RGB mode. Furthermore, it also has an sRGB mode to accurately reproduce colors in this narrower but commonly used color space, such as those seen on web pages or digital photos taken in sRGB mode.
Features for Creative Work
Brightness and Color Uniformity with DUE
Standard monitors constantly fall victim to fluctuations in brightness and chromaticity across the screen area. EIZO has incorporated their patented digital uniformity equalizer (DUE) technology to ensure a Delta-E difference of 3 or less across the screen when the monitor leaves the factory. DUE also counterbalances the influences that fluctuating ambient temperature has on color temperature and brightness, which allows you to rest assured you'll see the same color no matter what climate you're in.
Stop Waiting For Warm Up
With most standard monitors, there is upwards of a 30 minute wait time before the brightness, chromaticity, and tone characteristics stabilize. EIZO has taken this into account on their new model by shortening this wait time to a mere 7 minutes (more than a 75% reduction). If you're worried about productivity and uptime, and every second counts, then the CX271 is a right fit for you.
10-Bit Simultaneous Display
The monitor can display 10-bit color from a 16-bit look-up table via its DisplayPort input*. This is more than 1 billion colors shown simultaneously which is 64 times greater than the 16.7 million colors of 8-bit display. The result is even smoother color gradations and reduced Delta-E between two adjacent colors.
*A graphics board and software which support 10-bit output are also necessary for 10-bit display.
Factory Adjustment of Gamma
To ensure that each ColorEdge monitor produces the most accurate and consistent color gradations possible, EIZO carefully measures and sets every shade of R, G, and B from 0 – 255 on the production line with the monitor's 16-bit Look-Up Table, to produce a monitor gamma value of 2.2. Should the user prefer a different value, ColorNavigator software can be used to set the gamma value from a range of 1.0 up to 2.6 in increments of 0.1.
The HDMI input supports I/P (interlace/progressive) conversion for converting the interlace signals from TV and video into progressive signals for flicker-free display.
The bundled ColorNavigator software makes calibration both simple and quick. Just input target values for brightness, white point, and gamma. The built-in sensor directly utilizes the monitor's look-up table and creates an ICC profile within minutes. You can always download the latest version of ColorNavigator for free on eizo.com.
Color Matching with Other Monitors
ColorNavigator 6 factors for the different characteristics between ColorEdge monitors and calibration devices to provide accurate results.
Import / Export Adjustment Targets
Import and export your post-adjustment target profiles and share the same target values in multiple usage environments.
Calibrate Your Monitor to Another Profile
If you want to conduct color management between monitors in a workflow ColorNavigator 6 lets you load the profile of another ColorEdge monitor and use it to calibrate your own.
To verify calibration results or check to see how much the monitor's colors have varied since it was last calibrated, ColorNavigator 6 measures the monitor's color patches to determine the difference between the Delta-E value of the monitor's profile and the actual displayed values of the monitor
Unify Color, Centralize QC Management
With ColorNavigator NX installed on workstations, an administrator can use ColorNavigator Network software to automate quality control (QC) tasks of ColorEdge monitors across an entire studio or between multiple locations.
Worry-Free Web Hosting
ColorNavigator Network is hosted on a secure cloud server to free you from the initial investment and running costs of providing your own server.
Comfort and Convenience
Verification Documents Included
EIZO stands behind the quality of the ColorEdge series by including two verification documents with each monitor. One document verifies the uniformity on 25 points across the screen while the other certifies that all 256 color tones on the gamma curve were individually adjusted at the factory.
DisplayPort, HDMI, and DVI-D inputs are included for connecting to various types of graphics boards and support up to 2560 x 1440 resolution. It also offers direct connection with digital cameras. Two USB upstream ports allow two computers to be connected at once so it’s not necessary to reconnect the USB cable when using the ColorNavigator software and switching between the two computers.
Ample Screen Sizes for Creative Work
The CG277, CX271, and CS270 give you even more room to work with their spacious 27-inch screens and 2560 × 1440 resolution.
Adjust the screen to the most comfortable angle for you and reposition it to show your work to a colleague or client. The monitor comes with a versatile stand that offers height, tilt, and swivel adjustments as well as portrait mode display.
Ideal for Moving Image Work
An overdrive circuit is included to reduce gray-to-gray response time to 6 ms and ensure that moving images look clean and sharp with an absolute minimum of blurring and ghosting.
Shading Hood for Portrait and Landscape Modes
The CG series comes with a unique hood that is designed for both landscape and portrait mode so you can keep the glare off your screen no matter which mode you work in. Shading hood for CG318- 4K and CG248-4K does not support portrait mode. Shading hoods are optional with the CX and CS series.
Ideal for Video Editing and Post Production
Excellent Tone Display in the Dark
When viewing the screen from an angle in a dimly lit room, dark tones typically appear washed out due to the display characteristics of LCD backlights. The monitor maintains a high contrast ratio even from an angle which allows the dark tones to retain their depth.
Preset Color Modes
A button on the front of the monitor provides quick access to several broadcast-standard color modes reset color modes: Rec. 709, EBU, SMPTE-C, and DCI. In addition, sRGB and Adobe RGB modes are also available.
Commitment to Quality
The monitor is backed by a manufacturer’s 5-year warranty that covers all components including the LCD panel. EIZO can do this because it manufacturers its products at its own factories. This allows EIZO to keep close control over production quality and ensure that its monitors are built to last for 5 years.
Pixel Defect Warranty up to 6 Months
The RGB full pixel failure is zero for up to 6 months after date of purchase based on ISO 9241-307 (pixel failure class I).
Zero Watts When Turned Off
When the monitor is turned off via the power button on its front bezel it consumes no electricity.
