ColorBurst Win RIP Product Details

Full PostScript Support
Postscript Language Level 1, 2, and 3 support for PS, EPS, and PDF files. This includes EPS files with JPEG compression and multipage files.

Print from Applications
Allows you to print directly from your image-editing and layout applications, such as Quark XPress, InDesign, Photoshop, and Illustrator.

Greater Job throughput
ColorBurst is the fastest Large Format RIP available — files are ripped, color corrected, and printed on-the-fly. No need to RIP images when placing in a layout, and no need to RIP to large Scitex CT file before printing.

Layout
Image thumbnails are shown in the layout window. Multiple images are placed in the layout with automatic "best fit" nesting. Independent cropping, scaling, and rotation are completed on a per-image basis. Improved Step and Repeat increases control over file placement in the layout.

Nesting
ColorBurst will nest images in the layout without ripping the image first, saving time during setup. Automatic best fit and automatic image refit saves space in the layout, ultimately saving money on media.

Macintosh Printing supported
ColorBurst Expressway publishes printer queues to Macintosh OS X clients and offers backwards compatibility with OS 9 clients too. Printing from Macintosh applications is done using standard TCP/IP protocal netting a 80% speed increase over legacy Appletalk.

CSE ColorTrack Color Management
Completely eliminates the dirty color/speckled effect from using ICC Profiles for CMYK type, tints, and graphics. ColorTrack allows pure colors of Cyan, Magenta, Yellow, Black, Red, Green, and Blue to be printed without contamination.

Multiple input file formats
ColorBurst Pro offers full Postscript Language Level 1, 2, and 3 support for PS, EPS, and PDF files, including multipage files and JPEG compression. CMYK, RGB, Lab, and color-mapped TIFF files, including LZW compression, as well as Targa, Scitex Handshake CT, and RTL raster files are also supported. All file types can be placed together in a layout for printing.

Tiling
Make multi-panel prints with trim marks and image bleed. ColorBurst Pro offers increased control by allowing individual panel sizes. Tiling setup can be saved for reprinting individual panels.

Linearization
All versions of ColorBurst come pre-linearized to give customers the best results right out of the box. Using linearization ensures that your profiles are always accurate. As your printer ages it can always be brought back to it's optimal color state.

Ink Limit
ColorBurst utilizes Total Ink Limit and Black Preservation in pre-configured environments. The Black Preservation feature allows ColorBurst to achieve a deep rich black by not limiting the Black channel in relation to the Total Ink Limit. This feature enables users to get a great black with Epson’s Photo Black cartridge even on Matte and Fine Art papers. ColorBurst users who wish to make their own profiles have total control over their total ink limit and can determine the proper ink limit with the included CSE Media Ink Limit test.

Ink Curves
Controlling each individual ink channel is crucial to getting the best color out of your printer, ink, and media combination. ColorBurst's Ink Curves, which include Light Ink Conversion, are pre-configured for each environment. Individual Ink Curve settings are available to optimize transition from dark color primary to light color primary (i.e. Cyan to LT Cyan)

Bezier Curves
The Bezier Curves feature in ColorBurst allows users to make edits to their CMYK ink channels either prior to or after creating ICC Profiles. The Photoshop-style bezier curves can have up to 16 different edit points. Each point can be controlled to .1% accuracy. Each individual channel (CMYK) can have a unique curve or one curve can be applied to each channel.

Input Profiles
ColorBurst has separate Input ICC Profile settings for RGB, CMYK, and grayscale images. Any ICC input profile can be utilized with one of 4 different rendering intents.

Output Profiles
ColorBurst not only utilizes CMYK output profiles but also includes a proofing feature for pre-press workflows. ColorBurst users can simulate any press or other CMYK output device through the Proofer feature.

Spectrophotometer Support
ColorBurst ship with ChromaCapture, a separate application, that collects data from your spectrophotometer. ChromaCapture is used to create and update linearization files.
